Case Study – Cluster Flies in Farnham
Treatment for Cluster flies (Pollenia rudis) in Victorian home in Farnham.
Cluster flies are a problem in loft voids in early Spring and tend to congregate around south facing walls and windows.
In this case it was found that the flies were a real problem as they were entering the house and living areas.
An application of non residual insecticide as a thermal fog was applied to the loft void to knock down the flying insects. Prior to this a thorough inspection was made of the loft to ensure that there was no bat activity. We would normally use this type of application to control Cluster flies, however we might also consider ULV or smoke generators.
